A cancer diagnosis can affect every part of a young person’s life, bringing emotional, physical, and practical challenges for both them and the people who care about them. No one should have to face this journey alone.

This page brings together organisations, support groups, and trusted resources for young people living with cancer, as well as support for families, carers, and young people affected by a loved one’s diagnosis. Whether you are looking for emotional support, advice, opportunities to connect with others, or help understanding what comes next, these services are here to help.

Young People and Cancer Service Directory

The Connect to Support Lincolnshire Young People and Cancer Service Directory is an online resource designed to help children, teenagers, young people, and their families access cancer-related support across Lincolnshire.

The directory includes information for young people diagnosed with cancer, as well as support for children and teenagers affected by a parent, sibling, family member, or friend’s diagnosis. Resources cover topics such as understanding cancer, coping with emotions, talking about illness and grief, counselling services, bereavement support, peer support groups, and mental health services.

The aim of the service is to ensure young people and families affected by cancer can quickly connect with the right support, guidance, and community services to help them navigate the challenges of cancer and improve emotional wellbeing and quality of life.

Young people living with a palliative cancer diagnosis may need different or additional emotional, practical, and specialist support to help them and their families navigate daily life, future planning, and wellbeing. Accessing the right support can help young people feel understood, connected, and supported throughout their journey.

The organisations and services within Connect To Support's Service Directory offer compassionate care, counselling, bereavement support, peer support, hospice services, and information tailored to the needs of young people and families living with a life-limiting or incurable cancer diagnosis.
