North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust Cancer Services

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust Cancer Services are provided through day case chemotherapy and advanced nurse practitioner clinics at our Scunthorpe hospital. 

The oncology service at Grimsby hospital is based with the Amethyst Unit providing a dedicated inpatient, day case and outpatient clinic facility. The unit offers a seamless and personalised service to patients using multi-disciplinary expertise, which includes provision of an acute oncology service.

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust deliver district general services to 2.5m residents of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and its surrounding communities. Their specialist services delivers care to 4.5m people from across the East Midlands and nationally for a handful of services. QMC is where our Emergency Department (ED), Major Trauma Centre and the Nottingham Children’s Hospital are based. It is also home to the University of Nottingham’s School of Nursing and Medical School.

Nottingham City Hospital is the planned care site, where the cancer centre, heart centre and stroke services are based, and where some of the emergency admissions units are located. Ropewalk House is where they provide a range of outpatient services, including hearing services.

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Cancer Care

NUH are a leading Cancer Centre specialising in diagnosis, treatment, research and education.

They provide services to the local population of Nottingham and are the main tertiary specialist referral centre for hospitals in Lincoln, Sherwood Forest and Derby and the Nottingham Treatment Centre. They also receive referrals from Leicester and beyond for complex and rare cancers.

They are the main treatment centre for child and young adult cancers. In partnership with Leicester Hospitals, and with help from the Teenage Cancer Trust, they host one of the region’s teenage and young adult units. Click on the link to find out more about Cancer Care services at NUH.

Stamford and Rutland Hospital

Our hospital at Stamford has 22 inpatient beds on the John Van Geest ward and provides a range of outpatient clinic services, a minor injuries unit, and a day case surgery facility. It is also the base for the Trust’s pain management services. A programme to redevelop Stamford Hospital was completed in July 2017 – this saw the installation of a permanent MRI scanning suite on site, expanded facilities for blood taking and outpatient clinics, a new chemotherapy and lymphoedema suite, an improved physiotherapy gym, new administration facilities and a refurbished health clinic facility.  

Peterborough City Hospital  

Peterborough City Hospital at Bretton Gate, Peterborough, is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility which opened to its first patients in November 2010. The hospital has 635 inpatient beds and patients are cared for on modern wards with either single ensuite rooms or three to four-bedded ward areas, each with their own bathroom. This affords our patients far greater privacy than before and meets the NHS same sex accommodation criteria. The hospital has a Haematology/Oncology Unit, including a recently expanded radiotherapy suite, an expanded Renal Unit, an Emergency Centre with a separate children’s emergency department, a dedicated Women’s and Children’s unit, a cardiac unit, a respiratory investigations facility and full diagnostic imaging facilities.

Hinchingbrooke Hospital

Hinchingbrooke Hospital is a 304-bed district general hospital located at Hinchingbrooke Park in Huntingdon. The hospital opened in 1983 and provides a wide range of specialties including general surgery, ear, nose and throat, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, urology, breast surgery, gynaecology and vascular services.

The hospital has an emergency department and maternity unit. Children’s inpatient and outpatient services are provided on site by Cambridgeshire Community Services. The hospital has private facilities for patients who choose to have care on the Mulberry Suite. Also on the hospital site is the 23-bed Treatment Centre which opened in 2005.
